Sunday Supper/National Twin Day Celebration *Members Only*

Growing up you may have had the experience of your family gathering around the dining room table for Sunday Dinner. Perhaps with many relatives or maybe just your immediate family. The tradition of Sunday Dinner (or supper) has deep roots in many cultures. Sunday has long been a day of rest and worship. After attending services, families would gather for a large meal. In pre-industrial times, everyone worked hard during the week, and Sunday was their only day off, allowing time for a long and substantial meal.

This tradition emerging in 18th century Britain, the Sunday roast usually included beef, potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. In the 19th century in the United States meals may have included fried chicken and soul food in the south and pot roast in the Midwest. It was a time for gathering, community, and reflection.

National Twin Day will be celebrated in the United States this year on December 18, 2025. This would be a nice opportunity to celebrate our twinship and do so as a twin family sharing a meal together – our Sunday Dinner. So on Sunday, December 14, 2025, we are inviting all of our Twinless Twin family to gather together to honor our twins and our twinship and share a meal together.

With members in many places around the world, and many different time zones, we will be sharing a meal, but not necessarily the same type of meal. Some may be having breakfast, lunch, dinner, or an afternoon or late night snack.

Stretching the clock so that we can all do this at the same time is a challenge. We would anticipate sharing our meals at the following time for location:

·        Alaskan Standard Time: 11:00 AM
·        Pacific Standard Time: 12:00 PM
·        Mountain Standard Time: 1:00 PM
·        Central Standard Time: 2:00 PM
·        Eastern Standard Time: 3:00 PM
·        Greenwich Mean Time: 8:00 PM
·        Central European Time: 9:00 PM
·        West Africa Time: 9:00 PM
·        Australian Eastern Time: 7:00 AM (Monday Dec. 15)
