2021 TTSGI Conference and Regional Gatherings

The TTSGI Board has continued to closely monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation. We also conducted a survey to hear from you on your plans to attend an in-person conference. The majority of survey respondents do not plan to attend the conference in-person and a majority also prefer a virtual conference. Of those who did plan to attend the conference, the number was about a third of the number who would usually attend and not likely enough to successfully meet hotel conference participation requirements.

Additionally, while vaccine distribution is well underway, and will soon reach the general public in many states, the CDC is still discouraging the holding of conferences and non-essential travel. Even for vaccinated people, the CDC recommends physical distancing, mask wearing, and avoiding crowds. With the uncertainty surrounding both vaccine distribution plans and the protocols that will be in place with respect to travel and gatherings, the Board has decided to once again push back holding an in-person conference in Denver until 2022.  Please save the date for July 14 to 16, 2022.

This year, we will work on a virtual conference instead for July 10, 2021, including the return of the popular virtual memorial walk. Any twin who has pre-registered for the conference will automatically be applied to the 2022 conference, but all pre-registrants are being given an opportunity to request a refund, by clicking here.

In addition to the virtual conference, we are planning periodic virtual programs, which are free of charge to all TTSGI paid members.  Regional Coordinators will continue to host virtual regional gatherings and other specialized virtual gatherings throughout 2021. Depending on the level of community spread, there may be in-person regional gatherings held which follow CDC guidance and local requirements for physical distancing, occupancy requirements, handwashing and mask wearing. More details on upcoming programming and gatherings will be forthcoming.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we all navigate these uncharted waters. Please know that as a community of healing, we will get through this challenging time together.
